• A fun evening where each club tries to match and better the others with amusing, inspiring and different images. The rules are complex, misunderstood and open to interpretation, so anything can happen!

Shine On: A Creative Light Workshop
 

Get ready for an evening that glows! Join us as we dive into the colourful world of artificial light — from the sparkle of fairy lights to the vibrant glow of neon and the magic of light trails. Our first part of the night will take you through the essential camera techniques for working with light: how to capture starbursts, create beautiful bokeh, paint with light, and balance colour for mood and drama. Whether you shoot with a pro camera or a basic kit lens, you’ll learn how to make light your creative tool, not your limitation.

After the break, the hall transforms into a hands-on playground of glowing props and creative setups. Explore our themed light stations — photograph twinkling jars, shimmering reflections, a glowing Christmas tree backdrop, neon signs, and even try your hand at light painting with a colour wand. Move between setups, experiment freely, and see how your camera turns simple light into something extraordinary. It’s practical, inspiring, and guaranteed to brighten your photography!

Be sure to bring your camera, tripod, remote shutter erlease, and some fast lenses (if you have them).
